Day Care Centre Activities
- Mental Stimulation: puzzles, games and group discussions, aimed at promoting cognitive function and mental sharpness, bingo is a well loved game here at ASRA as it promotes inclusion across varying abilities, we provide various items as prizes for our games, such as toiletries and small items to encourage participation. We use Arts and Crafts to promote creativity and keep service users engaged.
- Physical exercise: gentle exercises such as chair yoga to encourage physical activity and maintain mobility and independence.
- Social engagement: we use open discussion to provide the opportunity of connection to foster friendships and prevent loneliness.
- Nutritional guidance: balanced meals are provided to service users, as well as nutritional guidance to support everyday healthy living.
- Music Dance and Song: we utilise activities surrounding the Dhol to encourage dance and inclusion for all.
- Training: we provide workshops and exercises to the local public within various types of training, for example in First Aid.
- Trips and outings: we facilitate organised excursions and outings for our service users, designed to enhance mobility, cultivate social connections, and promote inclusive participation in the community.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
ASRA offers free ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes in partnership with Rights and Equality Sandwell. These sessions are designed to support individuals in improving their English language skills in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The classes focus on everyday communication, confidence building, and practical language skills to help people feel more independent in daily life, access services, and engage more fully in their community. Whether you are a beginner or looking to develop your existing skills, our ESOL classes provide a supportive and friendly space to learn and grow.
